Women’s Golf Finish Season in Kiawah Island at SoCon Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNCG women’s golf team finished a unique and encouraging season as the Southern Conference Women’s Golf tournament concluded Tuesday. The Spartans finished seventh in the three-round event after shooting 311-301-309 (+57).

Seniors Sara Rydman (T13) and Tara Bettle (T22) led the way for the Spartans as they finished in order of their school year. Rydman finished nine-over at 225 after shooting 77-73-75 while Bettle shot 76-78-75 for 229 (+13).

Hailey Joy (T29), a junior, shot 78-72-82 totaling 232 (+16) followed by sophomore Anna Grace Brock’s (37) score of 239 (+23) after 80-78-81 in three rounds. Victoria Cook (44), freshman, finished the event at 252 (+36) bouncing back in the last round with a 78, she shot 84-90-78 in the event.

The Spartans’ season may be over, but the excitement for the next one has just begun with the team returning the majority of its roster.
