SUNSET HILLS, Mo. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women’s golf team completed play at the Washington University-St. Louis Spring Invite on Monday at the Tapawingo National Golf Club, placing ninth in the strong field.

How it Happened
The invite featured four top-25 teams in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division III poll. No. 5 Washington-St. Louis, No. 11 Illinois Wesleyan University, No. 17 Bethel University, and No. 23 St. Catherine University.
Sunday’s first round play featured blustery conditions, which saw the Saints struggle. Hannah Johnson’s (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors HS) 92 was the best score of the day for CSS.
Monday’s second round proved to be better for the Saints as all five players shot lower scores and the team was 27 shots better overall. Johnson was five shots better with an 87 (+5) to finish 26th overall. Johnson had a birdie on the par-4 10th hole. Junior Hannah Garcia (Becker, Minn./Becker HS (Bethel)) was consistent both days and shot a 93 (+21) on Monday to finish tied for 29th overall.
Sophomore Ruby Mohelsky (Moose Lake, Minn./Moose Lake HS) was 19 shots better in today’s second round with a 90 (+18) and was 43rd. Sophomore Olivia Wright (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) posted a 96 (+24) on Monday and tied for 38th overall. Wright had a birdie in Sunday’s first round on the par-3 15th hole.
The Saints will travel down Highway 53 for its next invite, as they will compete at the Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake, Wisconsin on Saturday, April 10.
