LAKELAND, Fla. — The 18th-ranked UWF women’s golf team will open play at the Lady Moc Golf Classic on Monday.

The Argonauts will be paired with Limestone and Palm Beach Atlantic beginning at 8 a.m. Eastern Time. The five groupings will be starting on holes 7-9 on the Grasslands Golf & Country Club. The 11 teams and various individuals will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

Other teams in the field include #3 Limestone, #5 Nova Southeastern, #7 Barry, #9 Lynn, #11 Flagler, #12 Saint Leo, #14 Florida Southern, #20 Anderson, Eckerd and Palm Beach Atlantic.

UWF’s lineup will feature Solange Gomez, Kelie Kan, Ronja Taipale, Payton Pacheco and Sophie Shrader.

The Argonauts will be playing their first tournament as a ranked team for the first time since the Fall of 2017. Additionally, UWF is 12th in the Golfstat Ratings Index.

Individually, Gomez is seventh in Golfstat, while Taipale is 55th and Maddy Krueger is 126th.

In the team’s only event thus far, UWF finished in third place at the World Golf Invitational with a 619 score two weeks ago.
