Tim Elliott explains in-cage trash talk with ‘woman beater’ Jordan Espinosa.
When Tim Elliott and Jordan Espinosa entered the cage at UFC 259 no one knew quite what would happen. Sometime in the middle of the fight when Elliott was landing some massive ground and pound, the men exchanged a not-so-friendly conversation where Elliott revealed a woman direct messaged him to say Espinosa had choked her. Espinosa said that wasn’t the full story. And yes, all of this happened mid-fight.

When Elliott won the fight via unanimous decision he spoke to the media backstage and explained further what happened.
“I didn’t say that for anybody else to hear,” he explained. “Because I don’t know the whole story. I was messaged on Facebook, by … I don’t want to name names, but it was a long message with some pictures and Snapchats, back and forth between Jordan Espinosa and another girl, a picture of her choke marks on her neck. I don’t know the whole story but it wasn’t something I wanted the whole world to hear. It wasn’t my … It was supposed to be between him and I.”

It was clear that Elliott was deeply affected by the messages and seemed apologetic for it to come out this way.
“It was kind of disturbing, the whole thing,” he said. “I have a daughter.”
He did say he’d be open to hearing Espinosa’s side of the story.
Espinosa does not speak to the media after the fight, due to being on the losing end.
