In celebration of the new TOPSPIN newsletter, Tennis Channel is searching for America’s Top Coaches.
What makes a “Top Coach?” It’s more than just a great player, it takes a special kind of skill to teach. The top coach must be minimum 18 years old, currently certified by USPTA or PTR, possess exceptional tennis knowledge, have a motivational personality, and have a special passion for teaching and growing tennis.
Examples of special qualities: Assists players with securing scholarships, coaches a no-cut team, utilizes new technologies for teaching, volunteers time with underserved communities, injects creativity into lessons, attracts new players to the game, takes an innovative approach to trying new things.
SUBMISSIONS & VOTING:
Coaches can be nominated by friends, family, students, or self-nominated.
Step 1 (February 22 – March 14): Nominate your favorite tennis coach or teaching pro, (including yourself) at tennis.com/topcoach
Step 2: The highest number of nominations, along with a panel of Tennis Channel judges, will determine the top 50 coaches (25 men & 25 women).
Step 3: (begins March 29): First round of fan voting will determine the Top 10 Finalists (5 men and 5 women).
Step 4: (begins April 19): Final round of fan voting will determine the Grand Prize winners
Step 5: (week of May 10) 1 male & 1 female Grand Prize winner will be announced
Grand Prize winners: will be featured on Tennis Channel, tennis.com, in Tennis Magazine, and receive a $500 Amazon gift card, plus all Finalist prizing.
Top 10 Finalists: will receive 1 year paid USTPA or PTR membership dues, plus special edition Tennis Channel apparel, Amazon gift cards, and prize packs for their home clubs.
Top 50 Coaches: will win a special edition Topspin backpack.
