In high school hockey last night… • Hancock left Escanaba 5-1. After a scoreless first period, Austin Salani lit the Bulldogs’ torch barely 33 seconds after the start of the second stanza. Mason Mikesch scored the eventual game winning a few minutes later. After the Eskymoes reduced the advantage to one, Mikesch’s second and third goals of the night extended the lead and Salani’s second of the night sealed the victory in the dying minutes. Isaac Pietila made 17 saves to claim the victory in the net.
