Steve Austin Reflects On Initial Reaction To Mike Tyson Coming Into WWE For WrestleMania 14 Build-Up

What did “Stone Cold” Steve Austin think when he first heard about boxing legend Mike Tyson coming into WWE to be included in the build-up to the main event of WrestleMania 14?

Who better to ask than the “Texas Rattlesnake” himself?

During his recent appearance on Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM radio, the WWE Hall Of Fame legend recalled not being completely sold on the idea of “Iron” Mike Tyson being put into the mix during the WrestleMania XIV build-up, and how he can admit with the benefit of hindsight that he was completely wrong.

Featured below is an excerpt from the interview where he touches on this particular topic.

“I’ll never forget, when Vince says he thought about bringing Mike Tyson in. And this is how stupid I was. ’cause I was all about the business, right? I said, ‘Man, do you think we really need Mike?’ [laughs] It was like, dude. As you know, when Mike Tyson came in, that was when the whole world started watching. So it was like, ‘Hello, McFly! Yeah, we need Mike Tyson.’”
