In addition to experienced defenseman Xavier Ouellet, who acts as team captain, full-back Tobie Bisson will try to make his way to the blue line. In Bisson’s case, he is a former student of head coach Joël Bouchard with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Now 23, the young man played with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL last season.

On the attack, Alex Belzile, Laurent Dauphin and Yannick Veilleux all wore the Rocket colors in 2019-2020. To them are added Rafaël Harvey-Pinard, Joel Teasdale and Samuel Vigneault.

Selected in the seventh round by the Canadian in the 2019 draft, Harvey-Pinard wants to continue his hockey career after a successful stay among the juniors with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. Teasdale, who has also already been led by Bouchard at the Armada, will want to prove himself with the Rocket, who has finally recovered from a serious injury to his right knee. Finally, Vigneault is an imposing 6 ‘and 5’ ‘skater. who wore, last season, the colors of the Cleveland Monsters, in the American League. In 57 games, the former Clarkson University has collected 16 points, including 11 goals.

Guhle and Mysak present

In addition to the three goalkeepers Cayden Primeau, Michael McNiven and Vasilli Demchenko, there will be a total of 10 defenders and 19 forwards at this training camp.

As reported by journalist Renaud Lavoie of the TVA Sports channel, Wednesday evening, four junior hockey players – Kaiden Guhle, Jan Mysak, Gianni Fairbrother and Jacob Leguerrier – will be on site. First choice of the Canadian in the last draft, 16th overall, Guhle particularly attracts attention. The defenseman recently participated in the World Junior Hockey Championship, where he recorded three points, including goals, in seven games for the Canadian team.

The 18-year-old Mysak is also arousing interest, the Czech having been chosen in the second round by the CH in the recent draft.

A special season

After playing 49 games for the Canadiens last season, forward Jordan Weal is also among the participants who will be on the ice to prepare for the 2020-2021 season of the American League which will kick off on February 5. Intra-team duels are scheduled for January 25, 28 and 31. Some sessions will take place at the Brossard sports complex.

Head coach Joël Bouchard’s squad, which will play exceptionally at the Bell Center this season, will only face the Toronto Marlies, the Belleville Senators and the Manitoba Moose during the campaign.
