School sports recap: St. Mary’s girls hockey crushes Bishop Stang

The St. Mary’s girls’ hockey team continued their strong play Thursday afternoon, winning a 5-0 shutout against Catholic Central League foe Bishop Stang in Connery Rink. The Spartans earned their second victory in less than 24 hours after beating Shawsheen Tech 6-1 Wednesday evening.

Senior captain Marina DiBiasio and second Lily Pregent led the way with one goal and one assist each. Senior captains Samantha Porazinski and Felicia D’Alessandro each scored one goal in the win, as did rookie Hannah Coleman. Senior captain Makayla McGrath and rookie Kasey Litwin each had two assists, while rookie Regan Sullivan had one assist. Second-year goaltender Rylee Smith made 16 saves to win the shutout at net, her second shutout of the season.
