Tessa Blanchard was done with Impact Wrestling on June 25 of this year. Her contract was up but just before that the company released her for violation of rules. At the time of her release, she was the reigning Impact World Champion, and hence she had to be subsequently stripped of the title.
Eddie Edwards would then go on to win the vacant title at Slammiversary 2020 in a five-way match that also featuring Ace Austin, Trey Miguel, Eric Young, and Rich Swann. Since that release, Tessa Blanchard became a matter of discussion for all the professional wrestling fans. They’ve been guessing where she would eventually land, next.
WWE was always the front-runner on the race of signing her considering her bright talent. Rumors had that All Elite Wrestling has no interest in signing Tessa Blanchard due to the racial allegations from earlier this year. The general belief was that the AEW women’s roster did not want her to be part of the AEW locker room.
Reason Tessa Blanchard Is Yet To Sign With WWE Or AEW
Wrestling Inc has now confirmed that those reports aren’t true as both WWE and AEW are equally interested in signing the third-generation wrestler. It’s a different reason why neither of the company hasn’t been able to get her under a contract.
The source noted that the reason Tessa Blanchard has not signed with either company is that she is still not done celebrating her marriage to fellow wrestler DAGA. The two are still in Mexico which was recently proved by their Instagram content. They are still waiting to get out of the pandemic situation before making any further move to the outside world.
Perhaps, when the pandemic gets winded down or gets more under control, the two could come back to the United States, and then only she would choose which promotion to sign with.
As noted above, Tessa Blanchard became a target of the IWC before her Impact release due to an old scandal that suggested that she perhaps went bad-mouth to some of her former colleagues. The set of incidents included an incident in Japan where she allegedly used a racial slur against La Rosa Negra. She wasn’t allowed to participate in media scrums or calls to address those allegations.
