Pro Football Focus Tabs 13 Cardinals for All-League Honors

MUNCIE, Ind. — Pro Football Focus recognized 13 Ball State players on its All-MAC teams, based on PFF’s grading an advanced statistics.
 
The Cardinals had four representatives on PFF’s all-league first team in safety Bryce Cosby, linebacker Anthony Ekpe, running back Caleb Huntley and receiver Justin Hall (also a second-team pick as a returner).
 
According to PFF’s grades, Hall has broken 20 more tackles after catch than any FBS receiver, Ekpe ranks in the top 5 in the FBS in pass rush grade, and Cosby has demonstrated his versatility with over 100 snaps in the box, slot and at free safety.
 
Safeties Brett Anderson II (second team) and J.T. Wahee (third team) were recognized along with linebacker Jimmy Daw (third team), the defensive MVP of the MAC Championship Game.
 
Ball State also had six honorable mention selections in right tackle Curtis Blackwell, defensive end Jack Sape, receivers Antwan Davis and Yo’Heinz Tyler, and linebackers Christian Albright and Brandon Martin.
 
Ball State defeated No. 23 Buffalo, 38-28, in the MAC Championship Game to earn its first league title since 1996. The Cardinals are making their first bowl appearance since 2013, set to face No. 19 San Jose State in the Dec. 31 Arizona Bowl.
