SPRINGPORT, MI — Hanover-Horton got past Leslie for a MHSAA Division 3 boys basketball regional championship on Thursday, April 1 at Springport High School.

The Comets and Blackhawks played to a 30-30 halftime tie. It became a defensive battle in the second half as baskets became hard to come by. Hanover-Horton built a 41-34 lead after the third quarter and held on to win, 50-45.

Conner Mortimer had 22 points for Hanover-Horton while Lucas McDaniel led Leslie with 11 points.

Hanover-Horton advances to the quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 5 at Tecumseh High School against the winner of Adrian Madison and Ypsilanti Arbor Prep.
