O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 start time 2021: What time NASCAR Cup Series start on Sunday, how many laps it runs
The O’Reilly Auto Parts 253 is set to take place Sunday, February 21st at the Daytona Road Course. The race will air on FOX, and if you’re not able to watch on TV, you can watch a live stream on FOX Live.
The race is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m. ET, but weather could cause a delay at some point. The National Weather Service is predicting a 20 percent chance of showers after 4pm.
The 253 mile race will run 70 laps, with 16 laps in stage 1, 18 in stage 2, and 36 in the final stage.
Chase Elliott claimed the pole and Daytona 500 winner Michael McDowell is the other front row starter. Elliott is a sizable favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook, installed at +200. Martin Truex Jr. follows at +450, and then Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin at +1000. McDowell is +5000.
The last race at the Dayton Road Course was the 2020 Go Bowling 235. Elliott won the 65-lap race, with the top five following him including Hamlin, Truex, Jimmie Johnson, and Chris Buescher. McDowell finished 10th.
