Newcastle United news LIVE – Takeover arbitration will be resolved ‘sooner rather than later’

Ciaran Kelly’s verdict
The makeshift away dressing room in the car park was rocking after Newcastle United’s 2-0 win against Everton at Goodison Park. As Steve Bruce put it, himself, ‘you’d think we had won the European Cup’.
Those joyous scenes were understandable after the Magpies ended their 11-game winless run in style and tasted that winning feeling for the first time since December 12.

Ahead of the trip to Everton, the Newcastle head coach reminded his players that they are ‘capable’ and pointed to the reverse fixture at St James’ Park back in November, when the Magpies triumphed 2-1.
Yet, Newcastle produced something even better on Merseyside and Bruce’s decision to tweak his set-up and press Everton high from the off appeared to catch the Toffees a little off guard on Saturday.
