NBA DFS: Kyle Lowry and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for March 13, 2021

The 2020-21 NBA season continues on Saturday and one of the top matchups of the night will pit Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets against Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks. But while Jokic and Doncic will undoubtedly be popular options in the NBA DFS player pool on Saturday, with five other games featuring higher totals, the matchups may lead owners elsewhere as they craft their NBA DFS stacks. Trae Young and the Hawks are favored by four over the Kings in a game where the total is 238 at William Hill Sportsbook.

With Young scoring 69 points in his last two games going up against a Kings defense that ranks last in the NBA in points allowed, you should see a lot of the former Oklahoma star in NBA DFS lineups. But what value plays are out there to help balance out the cost of Young or any other pricey stars, and how can your salary cap money be best spent? Before locking in any NBA DFS picks for Saturday’s action, be sure to see the NBA DFS advice, player rankings and top daily Fantasy basketball lineups from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Saturday, March 13 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Saturday, March 13

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for his Saturday NBA daily Fantasy lineups is Raptors guard Kyle Lowry at $8,700 on DraftKings and $8,400 on FanDuel. The six-time NBA All-Star is still productive just a couple weeks before his 35th birthday. Lowry is averaging 18.0 points, 7.2 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game this year.

Lowry’s shooting percentage (45.0) and 3-point percentage (40.2) are both bests since his 2016-17 season where he had career-highs in both categories. And after shooting 10-for-35 from the field and 6-for-19 from beyond the arc in his last two games, Lowry is due for some positive regression offensively. Lowry had 35 points, 18 assists and 12 rebounds in two games against the Hornets in mid-January and it should be a matchup he can exploit again on Saturday.

Part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes stacking Lowry with Raptors center Aron Baynes at $4,500 on DraftKings and $3,900 on FanDuel. The veteran from Australia is averaging a rather pedestrian 6.4 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season but he’s moved back into the starting lineup and had his minutes increased in the last three games.

That’s made him a more valuable NBA daily Fantasy resource, as he’s averaged 12.3 points and 9.3 rebounds per game during that span and he’s coming off a big night on Thursday against Atlanta. Baynes had 11 points and 15 rebounds while blocking two shots to generate an over 8x return on investment.

Baynes has now topped 30 points on both sites in each of his last two games and he’s a low cost, high-floor play on Saturday against the Hornets as the Raptors continue to be without Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and others due to health-and-safety protocols.
