Money: Guns N Hoses Hockey game raises funds for charity

JACKSONVILLE, Fla .– Jacksonville firefighters and police Officers exchanged the uniforms for sticks and skates on Saturday to raise money for charity.

The annual Guns and Hoses hockey game took place at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena with a socially distant crowd. This year’s contest was slated for December, but both teams chose to back it off to attract as many fans as possible.

Officer Garrett Noble says it’s great to give back to the community in a form Jacksonville isn’t used to.

“It’s really special to come here once a year and do that,” Noble said.

The action on the ice was intense from the start with hits on the open ice and plenty of penalties early on. Fans dressed in the old Guns and Hoses gear brought the arena to life.
