NORTH ANDOVER – Alex Jefferies’ goal gave Merrimack College men’s hockey the lead over 3rd-ranked Boston College with 8:02 left on Sunday. But the thwarted offer turned south from there.
The Eagles hit back with three goals in the final seven minutes, giving the Warriors a heartbreaking 5-3 loss to Lawler Rink.
After Boston College took the lead, Merrimack responded with 0:13 left in the first period. On the 5v3 power play, Ben Brar buried a rebound on a Zach Uens shot to make it 1-1 as the second period approached.
BC regained the lead barely 0:55 in the second, but the Warriors responded just a minute later when Conor Lovett dropped a pass to the net that Filip Forsmark pushed to tie it up again. .
