Men’s Golf in Sixth to Begin UMAC Championship

BECKER, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men’s golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Championship on Thursday at the Pebble Creek Golf Club.

Top Performers
Anthony Ahrens (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS (Bemidji State)) led the Saints in the first round with an 81 (+9). Ahrens recorded a birdie on the par-4, seventh hole. He is tied for ninth overall. Fellow senior Sam Long (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) registered two birdies in Thursday’s round and posted an 83 (+11) and is tied for 14th.
Liam Butche (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), Vinny Billing (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (New Ulm-NA3HL)) and Zach Madill (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) all carded 89s (+17) and are tied for 30th overall. Madill had a birdie on the par-4, 18th.
