Men’s Golf Finishes Second at UMAC Spring Preview

BECKER, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men’s golf team had three players place in the top 10, but it wasn’t enough as it was runner-up Tuesday for the second straight season at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Preview Tournament at the Pebble Creek Golf Club.

Top Performers
Anthony Ahrens (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS (Bemidji State)) led the Saints with a 78 (+6) to finish tied for sixth. Ahrens had a pair of birdies in today’s round. Sam Long (Stillwater, Minn./Hill-Murray HS) posted a 79 (+7) and finished eighth overall. Long led the team with 14 pars, which was also the second-most in the tournament overall.
Vinny Billing (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS (New Ulm-NA3HL)) shot an 80 (+8) and tied for ninth overall. Billing recorded three birdies in the round, which tied for a team-best. Zach Madill (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was the final Saint to score with a personal-best relative to par of 81 (+9) to finish 11th.
