EATONTON, Ga. – Memphis men’s golf finished tied for seventh in the 16-team Linger Longer Invitational at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee Sunday. Freshman Tyran Snyders placed seventh individually with a 5-under 71-68-72—211 to lead the Tigers
Charlotte won with a 25-under 839 total, 11 shots ahead of Georgia Tech (850). Virginia (855) was third followed by Louisiana Tech (860), Florida Gulf Coast (867), High Point (874), Memphis (876), Chattanooga (876), Middle Tennessee (877) and Toledo (883).
Kennesaw State finished 11th at 886 ahead of Mercer (888), Troy (894), North Alabama (895), Augusta (896) and Georgia State (899).
Also for the Tigers, Guillaume Chevalier tied for 32nd with a 74-73-73—220, Mitchell Bowlen tied for 50th at 74-72-74—220, Borja Martin tied for 55th at 69-80-76—225 and Esteban Vazquez finished 69th with a 75-76-78—229.
Charlotte’s John Gough won medalist honors with a 13-under 203, a shot ahead of Middle Tennessee’s Connor McKay.
Memphis returns to action in the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga., March 19-21.
