Marvel star Sebastian Stan wants to play WWE legend Ric Flair

The Falcon and The Winter Solider star Sebastian Stan has revealed his desire to step out of the MCU and into the WWE Universe.

Stan, who is currently starring in the Marvel series on Disney +, has said he’d like to play WWE legend Ric Flair in a biopic, alongside his I, Tonya co-star Paul Walter Hauser as Arn Anderson.

During an interview with Collider, Stan was asked a question sent in by Hauser, who wanted to know when they’d work together again.

“We got to do that Ric Flair/Anderson biopic,” Stan said. “[Hauser’s] so funny. I mean, he’s such a big wrestling fan and I was a big wrestling fan too growing up. Like, I loved WWF and stuff.

“And we both have a kip-up. So, maybe Ric Flair. I’ll do it in a second if they let me. I mean, pretty soon, I’ll be eligible, I guess.”

If Stan does end up playing Flair, he’ll be the second member of the MCU to play a WWE Hall of Famer, as Chris Hemsworth is currently getting in shape to play Hulk Hogan.

Speaking about the film earlier this year, Hemsworth said: “This movie is going to be a really fun project.

“As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor.

“There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude. I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I’m really looking forward to doing.

“I’m going to be blonde, probably balding and with a ‘tache.”

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is streaming exclusively Disney+, with new episodes every Friday. Catch up on Raw, Smackdown, NXT and all the big WWE action via the WWE Network or BT Sport.
