Manchester United look set to undergo a number of changes over the course of the next few months. And all the news regarding the European Super League has certainly created confusion about what the future holds not just for the Red Devils but for the game of football itself.
For now though, they must remain focused on the task at hand,, which is to finish the season as strong as possible.
And one man who is certainly looking set to finish the season strong is Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan striker has been in brilliant form in recent weeks and looks like the most lethal striker at the club at this point of time.
As a result, it should not come as a surprise that the club would be interested in holding on to him beyond this season. But as reported by Argentine outlet Doble Amarilla (via Mirror) the Uruguayan has informed the Manchester United hierarchy that he intends to leave at the end of this season.

Cavani leaving would be a massive blow to Manchester United
With Anthony Martial struggling to find the back of the net on a consistent basis, Cavani has been the best striker at the club this season despite going through his fair share on injury worries.
Yes, at 34 years of age, he might not be a long-term solution for the club but he has shown through his displays this season that he is still a spectacular option to have in your squad.
He has been linked with a move back to South America for quite some time though. And that could very well happen this summer. At this point of time, Boca Juniors looks like his most likely destination if he does indeed end up leaving Old Trafford in the summer.
Even as things stand, the Red Devils were expected to go after a new striker in the summer. And now, it might be absolutely necessary to do so.
