Hartford Hawks Athletics – Loza and MacKinnon Lead Women’s Golf at Hartford/Tumble Brook Invitational

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. — The Hartford women’s golf team continued its spring season, placing sixth at the Hartford/Tumble Brook Invitational, held at the Tumble Brook Country Club. The Hawks had two competitors placed within the top-20, led by senior Maria Loza’s 12th place standing.

- Boston University took home the win with a team score of 297 (+9), edging Quinnipiac (311; +23) by a distanced 14 strokes
- Hartford had two golfers finish within the top-20
- Loza carded a 78 (+6) on the day to tie for 12th
- It marked the second time this season where she didn’t finish within the top-10, however, it was her second lowest round of the campaign
- Senior Brooke MacKinnon finished in 17th after shooting 80 (+8)
- It marked the second time this season where she carded an 80 or lower in a round
- Sophomore Lara Yeung tied for 28th after shooting 83 (+11)
- Sophomore Teagan Devoe and junior Isabelle Premkumar rounded out Hartford’s scoring, carding 85 (+13) and 92 (+20), respectively

The Hawks will be back in action on Sunday, April 11, when they open play at the Sacred Heart Invitational held at the Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
