Finding motivation with Joffrey Lauvergne and One Team – News

The latest in the series of Life Skills videos by One Team, Euroleague Basketball’s social responsibility program, covers the topic of motivation and is presented by Zalgiris Kaunas star Joffrey Lauvergne.

Lauvergne, who is Zalgiris’s One Team Ambassador, emphasized the importance of motivation for making the most of life, saying: “Motivation is very important because it helps you achieve your goal. When there is something you love, like basketball, it is very easy to find motivation.”

He added that working with other people is a great source of motivation: “To have people around – friends, teammates – it’s even better to have goals with people…for the fun you’re going to share with the fans and your teammates. And off the court, to make my family proud.”

Several players from other teams also offered their opinions on the topic of motivation.

Corey Walden from Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade shares Lauvergne’s feelings about the importance of family: “My family is a big motivation for me. I really like to push hard and do the best I can, making them proud. They mean so much to me and I love them greatly, so that’s one of my biggest motivations.”

Pierre Pelos of EuroCup team JL Bourg en Bresse, meanwhile, revealed that he has a very powerful personal motivation to make him give the very best of himself: “I want to make my dad, who I lost when I was 11, proud. It’s a motivation I have every day. I tell myself that he would be proud of me if I can achieve my goals every day.”

This is the third in the series of Life Skills videos by One Team. The first two were presented by Kyle Hines and covered the topics of Communication and Respect.
