Edmond Aynedjian earns Summit League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota men’s tennis student-athlete Edmond Aynedjian was named this week’s Summit League Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honors following a strong showing down in DeKalb, Ill. 
 
Aynedjian went 2-1 in singles action over the weekend, notching both his victories at the No. 5 position. He was able to capture the lone point in three sets for the Fighting Hawks in the first meeting with Northern Illinois. Against Youngstown State, Aynedjan and his doubles partner were able to secure the doubles point for UND then followed up his doubles performance with a sweep in singles to help UND down the Pengiuns by a 4-3 score.

  • Collected his first career athlete of the week honor
  • Went 2-1 in singles play over the weekend at the No. 5 spot
  • Captured a three-set win over NIU and a sweep over Youngstown in singles
