Cordel Iwuagwu, Artavis Scott visiting Texans

Offensive guard Cordel Iwuagwu and wide receiver Artavis Scott are visiting the Texans, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.

An undrafted free agent from Texas Christian, Iwuagwu is a Westfield graduate who was previously on the Texans’ practice squad.

The 6-3, 309-pound Horned Frogs team captain who was signed to a contract that includes $20,000 guaranteed (a $10,000 signing bonus and $10,000 of his base salary guaranteed).

He chose the Texans over multiple teams, including the Broncos and Steelers.

Scott previously worked out for the Texans.

Scott played at Clemson with Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, winning a national championship together. He caught three passes in a national championship game victory over Alabama.

Scott caught 93 passes for 901 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore.

He declared early for the draft following his junior season and went undrafted, signing with the Chargers. Scott spent time on their practice squad.

In January, Scott signed with the Indianapolis Colts on a reserve-future deal and was cut in September after training camp.
