Boys ice hockey: Pandiscia’s hat trick pushes Verona past West Essex (PHOTOS)

Dominick Pandiscia tallied a hat trick to lead Verona/Glen Ridge to a 5-2 road win over West Essex/Caldwell at Codey Arena, in Caldwell.

Pandiscia got the ball rolling for Verona (1-0) by scoring the first goal of the game off an assist by Rowan Brennan in the first period. Another first period goal by Evan Twitchell and a power play goal by Pandiscia in the second period gave Verona a 3-0 lead.

Jack Longsinger added on a power play goal in the third period, and Pandiscia earned the hat trick with a goal later in the period, also assisted by Brennan.

Brennan and Will Benson both tallied three assists, while Keith Juros recorded 27 saves in net.

Joe Manyotov and Alex Laglia scored for West Essex (1-1). Zach Jewett stopped 28 shots in net for the home team.

Verona will return to the ice on Monday for a road game against Livingston, while West Essex will host Montclair.
