Blue Devil Women’s Golf Tabbed No. 2 in Coaches Poll

DURHAM – The latest Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) poll was released Friday afternoon with the Duke women’s golf program tabbed No. 2 overall as the Blue Devils prepare to open postseason action next week in Greensboro, N.C.

The Blue Devils are coming off collecting the team victory at the Cavalier Match Play this week, while also registering an impressive win at the Gamecock Intercollegiate this spring.  

South Carolina holds the top slot with 550 points, while Duke is in second with 509 points.  Rounding out the top 10 is Wake Forest, LSU, Florida State, Mississippi, Southern California, Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Baylor.  

As the Blue Devils head to the ACC Championship next week, a total of five teams will be in the field – Duke (2), Wake Forest (3), Florida State (5), Virginia (12) and Virginia Tech (T17).  

In the latest Golfweek Individual rankings, Duke’s Erica Shepherd is No. 12, while Phoebe Brinker is No. 27 and Gina Kim is No. 57.
