The statement added that Stokes would like to stay with the group ‘to provide his valued support and inputs off the field.’
Royals will be reviewing potential replacement options for the remainder of the season. A big jolt to the Jaipur-based franchise’s prospects going forward in the tournament.
Though Archer was on Tuesday cleared to return to training, his participation in the IPL is still under doubt. “No decision has been made as yet on when Archer is due to return to playing,” an England and Wales Cricket Board statement said. They next play Delhi Capitals on Thursday.
