FLANDREAU — Flandreau narrowly edged past McCook Central/Montrose for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Flandreau (5-4): Claire Sheppard recorded a 22-point, 10-rebound double-double for the Fliers. Maria Parsley added 10 points and seven boards. The Fliers travel to Parker on Saturday.

McCook Central/Montrose (7-4): Ashtyn Wobig scored 16 points. Madisen Koepsell chipped in 14 points. The Fighting Cougars play Chester Area on Thursday in Salem.

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes took down Lennox for a girls basketball win on Friday.

Platte-Geddes (4-7): Karly VanDerWerff scored 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Cadence Van Zee added 12 points, while Taryn Starr grabbed six rebounds and three steals in the win. The Black Panthers play Parkston on Tuesday in Platte.

Lennox (4-9): Mara Hinker scored a team-high 17 points. Jenaka DeCou and Alicia Ruud each added nine points. The Orioles travel to Vermillion on Monday.

ALEXANDRIA — Class B No. 5 Hanson coasted past Canistota in girls basketball action on Friday.

Hanson (10-1): Annalyse Weber led the Beavers with 20 points, six assists and five rebounds. Mekiah Campbell added 14 points and four rebounds. Karlie Goergen finished with 10 points. The Beavers play Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Tuesday in Forestburg.

Canistota (3-7): Kayla Papendick and Kenzy Krinke scored six points apiece. Papendick added five rebounds. The Hawks host Ethan on Monday.

PLATTE — Class B No. 2 Platte-Geddes outscored Lennox 19-10 in the fourth quarter and picked up a boys basketball victory on Friday.

Platte-Geddes (8-0): Caden Foxley finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Kelby VanDerWerff added 12 points and seven rebounds. Will Miller added seven points and Brody Boltjes scored six points. The Black Panthers play De Smet on Saturday at the Corn Palace.

Lennox (4-7): Peyton Eich posted 18 points and Braeden Wulf scored eight points. The Orioles travel to Parkston on Thursday.

WOONSOCKET — Hitchcock-Tulare picked up its second boys basketball win on Friday by taking down Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in the 281 Conference tournament.

Hitchcock-Tulare (2-7): Zach Gilbert scored 15 points. Kyle Hamilton added 11 points in the win. Cody Wright pulled down six rebounds. The Patriots travel to Redfield on Tuesday.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (4-7): Hayden Beigh scored 17 points. Tryce Slykhuis finished with 10 points and four assists, while Brady Larson grabbed 10 boards. The Blackhawks play Freeman on Saturday in Madison.

WOLSEY — Wessington Springs knocked off Wolsey-Wessington for a win in the 281 Conference tournament on Friday.
