The 2020/21 edition of the Indian Super League(ISL) came to an end earlier in the month, withMumbai City FC beating ATK Mohun Bagan 2-1 in the final to win their maiden league title. While there were a number of brilliant performers over the course of the season, we take a look at top attacking duos in the league this season.

Roy Krishna and David Williams played an integral role in ATK Mohun Bagan reaching the finals in the 2020/21 season, with 20 goals between them. Krishna who won the Golden Ball award, contributed 14 of those goals while also playing his part in the assist stakes. Reports have emerged that the duo are set to stay at the club atleast for next season and they will be looking to continue their form and lead the club to the title.

Another duo who were excellent up front this season were Igor Angulo and Jorge Ortiz, with the Spaniards contributing 20 goals between themselves in the recently concluded season. They were unlucky not to see FC Goa reach the finals and it will be interesting to see whether they can continue in the same vein next season.

3. Adam Le Fondre, Bartholomew Ogbeche (Mumbai City FC) – 19 goals

Adam Le Fondre and Bartholomew Ogbeche contributed 19 goals as Mumbai City FC won their maiden ISL title, with Le Fondre scoring 11 and
Ogbeche netting 8 in their run to the trophy. Mumbai have greatly benefitted from being bought by Manchester City – who will look to ensure that they become heavyweights in the Indian football sphere.

4. Sunil Chhetri, Cleiton Silva (Bengaluru FC) – 15 goals

Bengaluru FC did not have the best of times on the pitch in the recently concluded ISL season, but did see arguably two of their best players in Sunil Chhetri and Cleiton Silva show that they still have it in them at the highest level. With 15 goals between them, the duo will look to put a disappointing season behind them and start anew come 2021/22.
